It is important for any business to have a physical address other than its owner’s residence.  Most of the major business credit reporting bureaus, including Dun & Bradstreet, require any business that wishes to register with them to have a physical address.  It is a very basic indicator that a business is serious about the business it conducts.  An office address for a .com business is especially important, as it shows that its owners are willing to put forth a professional image for their company.  Many .com company owners choose to run the business from their homes.  This is a mistake:  if DNB finds a business is actually based in a residence, that business will be blacklisted from DNB, thus crippling any further chances of obtaining business financing.
